The All Important Ballot Access

Ballot Access is the number one most important thing that must be done in this campaign - period. We all love the fun parts of the campaign, the rallies, speeches, Dale's web site, etc., but all of that is meaningless unless Dale is on the ballot this November. We all know the system is designed against us, but we are going to beat them at their own game.

That means we must collect about 2,200 signatures, from registered voters in the 34th district, between the end of January and the beginning of July. The official number is less than 2,200, but many names get tossed out because they are either invalid or illegible and we only get one chance to submit it, there's no going back for more if we come up 50 signatures short.

We have been getting ready for this hurdle for almost a year. We're not going to be running around malls hoping that the people who sign are really registered to vote and by some miracle happen to live in the 34th district. We have detailed lists of all the voters in the district organized by street addresses. All we have to do is grab a list, start at one end of the street and go to each home on the list. We have no worries about each signer's qualifications to sign and we know our next valid signer is just a house or two away. This is also an excellent opportunity to introduce the voters in the district to Dale's campaign, so we'll make sure we have enough brochures for every home we visit, even if they refuse to sign or they're not even home.

I cannot stress enough how important ballot access is. Don't worry if you have never done anything even close to this before, neither have most of us, but we're doing a good job and making a real impact. Dale's campaign is one of the greatest opportunities for real people to make a real difference that has come along in a long time. However all the hard work that's been put in will mean nothing if we can't get Dale's name to appear on the ballot. So please come out and give us a hand, it's going to be close on this ballot petition thing and we know if we can get a little bit of help we can make it with out any problem. And after we've secured Dale's name on the ballot then the fun really begins - we'll all show Cobb County a race they'll never forget.

We will be going on petition outings fairly frequently, so check our listed dates and times to see when would be a good day or two for you to help out. If going door to door is not the thing for you (it's really not as bad as it sounds) we always need lots of drivers to keep up with all the walkers. All of our outings start at Dale's house, we get our list and then we all go out to one big neighborhood and split off in small groups from there.

To sign up to help with our ballet access drive just go to our Volunteer & Contribute form (you don't have to fill out the contribute section) and sign up! For any question you have about ballot access and volunteering to help out contact:
