Dear Editor,
After attending the Cobb county tax increase meeting held Monday evening it's clear to me that our local government is no different than any other, all they want is more.
Currently the cost of government, combined with the cost of compliance with government regulations and tax codes robs hard working Americans of more than half the income they earn. We are currently living in the best economy of my lifetime yet Americans are taxed at the highest peacetime rate in the history of this country.
For every one percent increase in tax we are forced to pay that is one percent less freedom we enjoy, freedom to choose where our money is to be spent or contributed in a civil society, not one of government coercion. It is my wish that Cobb County should lead the state in the fight back to a smaller, less intrusive government.
